Fans enjoyed watching ‘Acharya‘ but then when you take a look at the box-office numbers, it didn’t do as well as one would have thought. Few people were quite hesitant to watch the movie in theatres because of the mixed reviews and box office numbers. A large number of people have been waiting for the OTT release of ‘Acharya’, and now finally, they can watch the movie in their own comfort space.
Actors Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s recently released action thriller ‘Acharya’ is set to stream on an Over-the-top (OTT) platform. Directed by Koratala Siva, the film is set to stream on May 20. Acharya’s release was delayed due to the third wave of COVID-19 and the film hit the theatres on April 29. Made on a budget of Rs 140 crore, the film could only make Rs 53 crore on its opening day.
Poor word of mouth was the final nail in the coffin for ‘Acharya’. It was hyped as a much-awaited action thriller. But the film failed to create magic at the box office due to poor reviews from the critics. Stiff competition from films like ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ spelt further doom for the film. Ram Charan is reportedly making up for the losses, as many investors who hoped for a blockbuster invested a lot of money and lost money.
‘Acharya’ also stars Pooja Hegde, Sonu Sood, Jisshu Sengupta, Nassar, Vennela Kishore, Saurav Lokesh, Kishore and Tanikella Bharani in important roles. Pooja Hegde played Ram Charan’s love interest in the film. The technical crew includes Mani Sharma as the music composer, Tirru as the cinematographer and Navin Nooli as the editor.
