Contact tracers named fresh coronavirus exposure sites in New South Wales overnight, including a pub in Tamworth and a restaurant in Newcastle, after 262 new local cases.
A pub and café in Tamworth, along with a restaurant in Newcastle, are on COVID-alert for six full days as Greater Sydney’s Delta outbreak causes chaos across the state.
NSW Health updated their list of coronavirus exposure sites overnight after 262 new cases, including at least 46 infectious in the community, were recorded on Sunday.
The slight drop in daily figures comes after residents in the Hunter and Upper Hunter regions were ordered to lock down last week due to community transmission of the virus in the Newcastle area.
Authorities then plunged Armidale, almost six hours north of Sydney, into a snap lockdown on Saturday following positive cases.
Contact tracers have now named venues exposed to the virus in Tamworth, about five hours north of Sydney, causing fears the COVID outbreak could rip through the state.
Authorities listed Habesha Ethiopian Restaurant in The Junction, Newcastle, as a close contact venue from Sunday August 1 to Thursday August 5.

Anyone who attended the following venues at the time and date listed is a close contact and must get tested and isolate for 14 days, regardless of the result:

The new cases on Sunday take the state’s latest outbreak to 5,169.
The outbreak emerged on June 16 after a Bondi limo driver who transports international aircrew contracted the virus.
